We recently had the pleasure of hosting Joe Sweeney from the Prescott Valley Rotary Club at our Wickenburg Rotary meeting. Thank you, Joe, and all visiting Rotarians, for joining us for a fantastic afternoon of fellowship and planning!

Joe is a highly dedicated figure in our district. Alongside fellow Rotarian Bob Ticer, he has played a central role in restarting the Rotary Club of Prescott Valley. He brings a wealth of leadership experience to the table, having served as the President of the Rotary Club of Prescott during their historic 100th-anniversary year (2021–2022). Currently, Joe is the District Governor Nominee for Rotary District 5495 and is set to serve as District Governor for the 2026–2027 Rotary year.

(For those interested in his local chapter, the Rotary Club of Prescott Valley meets twice monthly on Tuesdays at 4:30 PM at the Elks Lodge and expects to receive its official charter from Rotary International in the fall of 2025!)

Our meeting was a great success. A wonderful group of members enjoyed delicious fajitas at the Elk Club while diving into exciting discussions about our activities for 2026. Among the topics discussed was an upcoming international volunteer trip to Jamaica planned for October.
We also brainstormed some fantastic new fundraising ideas. Potential events include participating in the Wickenburg community 4th of July celebration and hosting a community Octoberfest at Vulture Mine, complete with tours, entertainment, and delicious food.

Ultimately, the funds raised from these upcoming events will be used to support meaningful community service projects, such as the beloved book bag project that our Rotary club has proudly participated in for many years.

Thank you again to Joe Sweeney and everyone who attended. Here is to a bright and impactful future for Wickenburg Rotary!
